We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Caretaker to join our team and play an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, secure and well-presented residential development for residents, visitors and contractors.
This is a customer-facing role, and we are looking for a friendly, reliable and professional individual with a practical approach, good attention to detail and a commitment to providing a high standard of service.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 09:30–16:30
Break: 1 hour unpaid
The right candidate must:
- Have excellent communication and customer service skills
- Be polite, friendly and professional
- Have basic maintenance and practical skills
- Understand Health & Safety and fire safety
- Be reliable, organised and self-motivated
- Have good observation and problem-solving skills
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Be physically fit for basic duties
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Be flexible and willing to undertake training
- Have previous customer-facing experience (desirable)
Main duties include:
- Maintaining the development to a high standard of cleanliness, safety and presentation
- Carrying out regular site inspections and reporting defects
- Keeping communal areas, car parks and external areas clean and tidy
- Carrying out minor maintenance, repairs and decorating
- Managing waste and recycling
- Coordinating access for contractors and service providers
- Carrying out routine checks of site facilities and equipment
- Maintaining records and stock levels
- Responding to emergencies when required
- Clearing leaves, ice and snow during seasonal periods
- Following all Health & Safety, COSHH and company procedures
What we are looking for
The successful candidate will have a professional, positive attitude, take pride in their work, and be committed to maintaining a high standard of service for residents and visitors.
Previous experience in a caretaker, facilities, property management, hospitality, hotel or similar customer-facing role would be advantageous. Knowledge of general maintenance and Health & Safety is desirable.
Working safely
Use all cleaning materials and equipment in accordance with company procedures and relevant Health & Safety and COSHH requirements. Appropriate PPE and uniform will be provided.
