From 2018, Sentinel Security Group has provided Security and Help Desk services for National Facilities Management Provider’ sites, delivering frontline and back-office support for their security provision.
Established in 2003, National Facilities Management Provider is a privately owned total facilities management provider, headquartered in Greater Manchester and operating nationwide. The company delivers tailored, multidisciplinary solutions across a wide range of sectors, aligning closely with client objectives to support efficient, compliant and high-performing environments. Through its partnership-led approach and commitment to continual improvement through innovation, National Facilities Management Provider provides comprehensive support including facilities management, engineering, security, cleaning and project delivery, underpinned by flexible technology and responsive twenty-four-hour service capability across the UK.
Services we deliver
On this contract with National Facilities Management Provider, we provide the following core services:
- Deploying licensed Security Officers
- Deploying front-line Security Officers to cover planned and unplanned absence on sites
- Recruiting, training and deploying a team of named Officers
- Providing a reserve surge team to support short-notice activities
Through these services, we support Ascot by providing an effective means of calling for help in an emergency, as well as fulfilling its duty of care towards their colleagues. We achieve this by providing trained frontline resources and control room functions to cover and efficiently support their reception and security needs.
Due to the large number of lone-staff duties required for Ascot sites, we also manage lone worker activities and staff safety through our own MiSentinel Workforce Management System. Developed in-house by Sentinel Technologies, this software effectively tracks staff schedules and equipment in addition to monitoring staff performance. Facilitating service cost reductions for Ascot, the MiSentinel mobile app functions as a lone worker and patrol monitoring device for Officers on-site.
Overcoming key challenges
A key concern that Ascot had was ensuring that Officers deployed for front of house duties would be trained, professional and portray the right attitude to represent their brand. To provide reassurance on this, we confirmed that all deployed staff had undergone our training programme delivered through Sentinel Academy, which incorporates customer service, interactions and communication. This ensured that all staff understood the requirements of operating in Ascot’s professional and corporate environment.
Delivering success
As a result of our effective and reliable service offering, delivered by professionally trained staff, we now provide 95% of Ascot’s temporary work requirements.
Evidencing our success on this contract with Ascot, we received the following feedback from Darren Mottram, National Security Manager:
“Very good, we have formed a great partnership and I find that I am able to speak to the senior management team and raise any issues to be resolved. In addition, we have 98% of our ad-hoc cover requirements filled which is a very high rate in the industry… The management team and staff at SGS have a real ‘can do’ attitude, they are proactive, approachable and take pride in doing things right.”
